This past week, our team attended Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s 108th National Conference in San Francisco. While many of our team members attended the entire conference, on Saturday – the last day of the conference – nearly 50 more came for the day to see keynote speakers, attended workshops and help us receive the most coveted of Boys & Girls Clubs program awards.
Every year, Honor Awards are given to the Clubs that most exemplify impact and innovation. Awards are given in each of our five program areas and one is given to the Best Overall Program. This year, our team received this highest honor from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
In addition, earlier in the week, our Club team accepted the inaugural Honor Award for Innovation in Safety for our efforts around keeping our communities’ children safe and two more awards in the areas of Health & Life Skills and Character & Leadership for our REACH program and Character Builders program, respectively.
Every day, our Club team works to impact the lives of nearly 6,000 Sonoma County children, working hard toward our vision of bringing Hope & Opportunity to every child in Sonoma County. Our team is proud to receive these awards and to be leading a national organization that is more than 150 years old, but understands that there is still much work to be done to reach our vision.
Right now, let’s celebrate! Together with the support of our friends, family and communities, we are saving lives and ensuring that great futures truly do start here.
