In the wake of the fires that have devastated so many in Northern California, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Sonoma County has started a Fire Assistance Fund to support families directly impacted by the fires. Many of the 40 sites we serve in the North Bay are located in the middle of devastated area and we know that many of our families have been severely impacted.
Jennifer Weiss, Chief Executive Officer, shared when talking about the fund, “Our organization specializes in serving those who need us the most in the communities we serve. Sadly with the recent fire disasters the number of our families who ‘need us the most’ has grown tremendously. Additionally, many families that were already struggling to get by now find themselves without housing, work, or in some cases are left with just the clothes on their backs. Now more than ever our families and community need our support, and we will be there for them.”

Phase 2 Update
Our team is excited to announce a new round of applications, providing additional funding to families with specific needs. As our community continues to rebuild, we recognize that many families have specific costs related to the fires. New beds have to be purchased, down payments for replacement cars are needed, work supplies need to be replaced, and city/county permit fees are adding up.
We aim to provide reimbursement for items purchased not covered by insurance, or provide advanced funds to support large purchases also not covered by insurance. We will fund specific project requests, with qualifying evidence displaying proof of purchase or verification of cost.
