2024 SUMMER IMPACT: Maria’s Story
Your support in 2024 will help give great summers to Maria and other kids in need.
Before coming to Camp, Maria's summers were filled with lonely days while her parents worked. She felt isolated, her English skills were limited, and her shy nature kept her from making friends.
But everything changed at Summer Camp. Suddenly, Maria wasn't alone. Experiencing many “firsts”—she splashed in a joyous water balloon fight, explored the majestic California redwoods, and sunk her toes into the sands at Doran Beach. With every new friend made, Maria grew more confident, and her voice found its way.

More than just fun, Summer Camp fosters transformation. Camp leaders worked with Maria to boost her English skills, filled her arms with bilingual books, and cheered for her while she competed in our Camp spelling bees. A timid little girl blossomed into a vibrant young person, surrounded by friends and staff who supported her growth!
2024 SUMMER IMPACT: Ethan’s Story
Help give great summers to Ethan and other kids in need.
When Ethan came to Summer Camp, he was surrounded by unfamiliar faces and felt unsure about meeting new people. Staff, knowing that he was passionate about research projects, provided programs to put him at ease.
Ethan’s arms were quickly filled with ocean education books from the Camp Library and his love of learning was ignited! Soon, he was sharing his new knowledge with the entire camp, reciting the facts he learned with his peers. Camp provided a platform for Ethan's passion to shine, confirming that he was in a safe environment where he could learn, explore, and grow.
Through support and encouragement from Staff and peers, Ethan knew that he could share his love for knowledge with everyone AND find a sense of belonging!
